Brian Hinman, Chief Innovation Officer, Aon Insurance

Brian is the Chief Commercial Officer for Aon Intellectual Property Solutions. In this capacity, he is part of the senior leadership team of Aon IP Solutions, which delivers IP solutions that enhance our client?s enterprise value through executing IP?based value creation strategies and mitigating IP risk exposure. Brian helps lead the efforts for Aon in seizing the generational opportunity to establish market?accepted standards for assessing and valuing the IP asset class for businesses and investors.

Brian Hinman has over 30 years? experience in the field of intellectual property, having held senior
executive positions at some of the world?s leading companies. Most recently, he served as Chief
Intellectual Property Officer at Philips, based in the Netherlands. In this capacity, he also held the
position of CEO of Philips Intellectual Property and Standards where he led a worldwide team of over 400 intellectual property professionals in 9 different countries. He formulated and executed a robust IP strategy for each of Philips? business units including IP portfolio management, all IP litigation matters (offensive and defensive), active participation in various industry standards, and conducting all forms of IP monetization including patent, technology and brand licensing and formation of various IP Ventures.

Previous to Philips, he was co?founder and Chief Operating Officer of Unified Patents Inc., and prior to that, he held positions of Vice President of IP and Licensing at IBM, Verizon and InterDigital, and was founding CEO of Allied Security Trust.

Michael Gulliford, Managing Principal, Soryn IP Group

Michael is the Founder of the patent advisory firm Soryn IP Group, as well as its sister company Soryn Capital, which invests significant capital in a host of patent-centric opportunities.  Prior to founding Soryn, Michael was a partner in the IP Litigation group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

At Soryn, Michael is a trusted advisor and investor to a number of the world?s most prestigious universities, law firms, companies and inventors.  He guides the management of private and publicly traded companies with respect to patent strategy, and has been the name behind almost two hundred million dollars in patent related deals.  Michael has also repeatedly been recognized as one of the Leading IP Strategists in the World.

Michael holds an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Columbia University and a law degree from the Seton Hall University School of Law.  He is regularly asked to speak and publish on the latest patent and litigation finance developments.

Lou Bladel, Managing Director, Ernst & Young

As an Managing Director of Assurance services at Ernst & Young LLP, Lou Bladel focuses on Forensic & Integrity Services. He works to help clients analyze cybersecurity threats, investigate and remediate data theft and fraud, develop and implement comprehensive intellectual property theft solutions as well as insider threat programs and services.

With more than 26 years in federal law enforcement, Bladel brings a diverse skill set that he has developed through his time serving the United States Marshals Service, Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Currently, he consults with US federal law enforcement agency directors, government regulators and key executives of Fortune 100 companies, Fortune 500 C-suite officials and boards of directors from across industry sectors on matters of economic espionage and insider threats.

Herrington, David H., Partner, Cleary Gottlieb

David H. Herrington?s practice and experience span a wide range of litigation, advisory and regulatory matters, with a focus on intellectual property disputes.

He has handled suits involving claims of breach of patent, copyright and know-how licenses, patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation and trademark infringement. He also has advised on IP transactional matters and due diligence assessments of IP litigation exposure and assets. His experience in other areas includes internal investigations and regulatory matters.

David has conducted a number of IP litigations through trial and appeal. He also has successfully represented clients in jury trials, international arbitrations, evidentiary hearings and appeals.

Michael Kasdan, Partner, Wiggin and Dana Michael Kasdan is a Partner in Wiggin and Dana’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. He has negotiated, defended, and asserted IP rights in federal courts, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the International Trade Commission, and private arbitrations and mediations. As an advisor, he has worked with both established companies and startups to obtain, value, license, and develop patent and trade secret portfolios and trademarks. Michael is also an adjunct professor at his alma mater, NYU School of Law, where he teaches IP Licensing.

He is the Co-Chair of the New York Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society (LES), the President and Director of the NY IP Alliance, and heads the New York Chapter of the International Intellectual Property Commercialization Council (IIPCC). Michael speaks and writes expensively and has been listed as one of the world?s-leading IP Strategists in the 2017 ? 2019 editions of IAM Strategy 300 ? The World?s Leading IP Strategists.
