This new, highly interactive, intensive, one-day course focuses on intellectual property (IP) licensing for executives in the Life Sciences sectors and segments. It is taught through a combination of case studies, presentations, and group discussions, and provides an integrated view on licensing transactions or deals, including early stage licensing within universities, pharmaceutical, and other biotech organizations. This course is developed and taught by world-class licensing experts, and includes legal, valuation, and business specialists.
Strategic Licensing: Advanced Skills & ToolsThis intensive, four-day course focuses on strategic licensing in the broader context of business development and company-wide intellectual asset management. It provides advanced skills and tools for the experienced licensing professional. Taught by world-class licensing experts in both lecture and small-group formats, the course builds upon the master’s class curriculum and covers six major topics: Legal Issues, Licensing Issues, Intellectual Asset (IA) Strategy, Valuation, Negotiation, and Ethics. Specific takeaways for course attendees include being able to identify due diligence legal issues in licensing transactions; analyze difficult agreement provisions; recognize an IA strategy that is both actionable and aligned with corporate strategy; interpret competitive data; recognize assumptions and interpret an independent valuation report; and conduct principled negotiations and apply ethical principles to the opportunities.

To be eligible, you will need to take the IP & Licensing Basics 100/IP Business Basics 101 and attend the three-to-four hour Train-the-Trainer (TTT) workshop. Following your training, you will have access to course materials, coaching, and other resources to get you started.
