Letter from the President and Chair
Thursday, January 17, 2019
Happy New Year! I hope that you had an enjoyable holiday season with family and friends.
I’m writing to let you know about two upcoming changes in the organization. Kim Chotkowski will be stepping down as LES CEO and returning to the licensing industry. We congratulate Kim on her new role as Vice President, Head of Strategy and Operations at InterDigital. She will continue as an LES member, and we are looking forward to having her engage with the community at future meetings. Kim has been instrumental in many of LES’ recent accomplishments that have set LES on a positive course for the future. We appreciate her many contributions to LES and look forward to her continued involvement in our community.
Kim asked me to convey to you that it’s been a privilege and honor for her to have served as CEO of LES and that she’s immensely proud of LES’ growth and the impact it has had on members and the industry. She’s enjoyed every minute and challenge along the way, and greatly appreciates all of the support the LES community has given her.
The LES Board will meet to determine the next steps for the CEO position. In the meantime, I’ll be leading the organization in collaboration with President- and Chair-Elect Gary Fedorochko, the LES Board of Directors, and our management firm Virtual, Inc.
Secondly, the Board has appointed Christine Nolan to assume the role of Operations Director, effective immediately. Christine, a Director of Client Services at Virtual, Inc., succeeds Kelli Baxter, who is moving on to pursue other interests. With over 20 years of nonprofit leadership, including her most recent role as the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council’s Senior Director of Communities, Christine’s vast knowledge and industry experience will serve our membership well and position LES for ongoing success. I'm confident LES will continue to grow under Christine’s leadership and our current strategic direction. Please join me in welcoming Christine as Operations Director and supporting her as she helps guide the leadership team to bigger and better things.
I'm excited about the future of LES and the impact we will have on the intellectual capital community, as we execute against our 2019 initiatives. I will work closely with Christine and Kim to ensure a smooth transition and drive the organization forward in my current role as President and Chair of LES.
With sincere appreciation,
