LES President and Chair Bill Elkington will present the award to McCarthy at the Annual Meeting luncheon, on Oct. 15, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m., at the Boston Marriott Copley.

"In my view and in the view of many in our Society, Jim is one of the truly spectacular volunteers in LES, and we are deeply grateful that he has chosen and continues to choose this community to make his own," said Elkington. "He was the motivating force in the original development and coordination of the LES Global Life Sciences Royalty Rate and Deal Terms Survey, a survey that is invaluable to licensing people and intellectual capital management people around the world. His tireless work to improve the practice of licensing and intellectual capital management by supporting our fellow members and society at large makes Jim the embodiment of the LES promise and commitment."
