13th Annual Deals of Distinction™ Award Winners to be Recognized in Chicago

LES (U.S.A. and Canada) to honor recipients at LES 2017 Annual Meeting  (October 22-25, 2017)


Reston, Va. (October 10, 2017) Four of the year’s most creative and innovative intellectual property (IP) deals have been named Deals of Distinction™ by the Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A and Canada), Inc. and will be recognized at their Annual Business Meeting and Luncheon on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 12:15 pm.

“These deals represent outstanding industry achievements and technologies that both strengthen international commerce and improve our global community,” said LES (U.S.A. and Canada) CEO Kimberly S. Chotkowski. 

Award recipients from the following LES (U.S.A. and Canada) sectors will honored and will share details about their winning deals at the Chicago Marriott Magnificent Mile's 7th floor Grand Ballroom:

  • Chemicals, Energy, Environment & Materials (CEEM) Sector: ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company and Pohang Iron & Steel Company (POSCO)—High Manganese Steel Slurry Pipe License and Commercialization
  • High Technology Sector (HTS): AT&T and Uber Technologies - AT&T's Patent Sale to Uber
  • Industry-University-Government Interface (IUGI) Sector: AbbVie, Inc., Biogen, and National Institutes of Health (NIH-US) - Zinbryta® for Treatment of Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis
  • Life Sciences Sector: Xencor, Inc. and Novartis - Preclinical Immuno-Oncology Bispecific Antibody Alliance
