Fintech & Blockchain

Mission Statement and Objectives:

Financial Technology (“Fintech”) is the use of technology to deliver financial services as well as streamline financial activities.  It is an extremely valuable technology that is rapidly changing how commerce is being conducted.  Blockchain (“Blockchain”) is a growing list of records that are linked using cryptography.  This technology provides an open distributed ledger that is resistant to modification to record transactions between two parties in a permanent, efficient and verifiable way that has a myriad of applications throughout all industries with the most notable application being that of providing a monetary currency.  The mission of the Fintech and Blockchain Subsector is to provide a forum for discussion, education, and networking among Licensing Executives Society (LES) members interested in licensing, technology applications and technology transfer involving Fintech and Blockchain.  The activities of this subsector include:

  • Educational programs on the numerous and ever-evolving applications thereof;
  • Provide insight into the constantly revolving legal and regulatory landscape affecting these technologies;
  • Discussion of licensing terms for applications;
  • Analysis of transactions and deals for organizations;
  • Networking and development of professional relationships in both industries;
