Details:

The increasing number of connected cars demonstrate that the automotive industry is a leader in the development of the Internet of Things. By becoming one of the first industries outside of ICT to widely adopt cellular connectivity, the automotive industry is adding many new features and functionality to today’s vehicles, including new safety, convenience, and entertainment options.

At the same time, the automotive industry is paving the way for the IoT to find new and more efficient ways to license wireless technology. As a number of recent developments show, licensing has become a key issue for an industry with much different traditional licensing practices compared to mobile and other tech sectors. This webinar will explore the some of the challenges and new approaches involved with licensing wireless technology in the automotive industry.

Learning outcomes:

• Differences in licensing practices between the wireless and automotive industries
• How the supply chain affects IP licensing in the automotive industry
• New approaches for licensing wireless technology to the automotive industry and IoT
