LES Seattle Chapter presents:
“Alexa, are you following me?
How the Alexa Voice Service enables Amazon’s goal of making Alexa available everywhere.”
Amazon launched Alexa in 2014 and the voice service is now available on over 100 million devices, including a wide range that are produced by third parties. The Alexa Voice Service enables those third parties to easily integrate Alexa into devices such as TVs, PCs, tablets, wireless speakers, phones, routers, fitness trackers and more. AVS licenses core Alexa technology and makes the service broadly available to third parties. We will discuss how AVS works with partners, how AVS and Alexa have evolved over time, and how Amazon thinks about the future of voice services.
Our speaker will be Garrett Glanz, is a Senior Manager on the AVS Business Development team and leads the team that engages PC and tablet OEMs in addition to leading integrations with other voice services such as Cortana. Prior to Amazon, Garrett spent 16 years at Microsoft in various BD roles, including a 3-year stint on Microsoft’s Intellectual Property Group where he focused on patent acquisitions (e.g. Nortel, AOL, Kodak) and licensing.
CLE Credit pending.
