Scott Weingust- Managing Director - Intellectual Property Valuation Expert - Stout, Chicago IL
Scott Weingust leads Stout’s intellectual property valuation practice. Based in Chicago, Scott has over 20 years of experience providing consulting services to a variety of corporations in the areas of intellectual property valuation, damages, monetization, and management.
Scott has provided testimony as a damages and valuation expert in intellectual property-related litigation including having offered opinions in U.S. Federal District Court. Scott has performed due diligence and valued intellectual property and other intangible assets for a variety of purposes. These include, but are not limited to, transactions (licensing, M&A, etc.), tax strategy and compliance (transfer pricing, etc.), corporate strategic decision-making, and use of intellectual property to attract capital (debt and equity financing).
Scott is currently an adjunct professor at the DePaul University College of Law and The John Marshall Law School where he teaches courses on intellectual property valuation. He is the immediate past chair of the Licensing Executives Society’s Valuation & Pricing Committee.
