The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and Canada's Innovation Science and Economic Development (ISED) Office will jointly provide an informative presentation and discussion on the Government of Canada’s Innovation agenda. Learn how Canada’s Innovation and Skills Plan is putting bold ideas into action, including Canada’s IP Strategy, and Innovation Canada – a client centric, single window business innovation service.
In 2017, the Government of Canada launched the Innovation and Skills Plan to ensure Canadians have the tools needed to participate in an innovative economy, to encourage greater business investments in research through partnerships, to attract investment for leading Canadian companies and start-ups and to offer a timely and client-centric window of service. A number of initiatives have since been launched under the innovation and skills banner, including an Intellectual Property Strategy to ensure businesses, creators and innovators have access to the best possible IP resources, and Innovation Canada to offer a single business innovation service and to develop R&D partnerships. Please join representatives of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada in a presentation on the Innovation and Skills Plan – its origins and initiatives and its intended results for Canadians and businesses.
