This talk, entitled "Machine Intelligence: Finding the Next Unicorn" will discuss trends in the IoT/ML/AI space and what venture capital investors are looking to fund. Specifically, it will cover the key aspects of a machine intelligence company that are interesting from a business perspective, the verticals and use cases where this technology is poised to be impactful, and what the next billion-dollar machine intelligence business, or unicorn, may look like. Additionally, it will discuss issues around licensing and patenting of AI/ML technology and key points to keep in mind for IP strategy.
This is the first webinar presented by the High Technology Sector's new subcommittee Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Vinay Iyengar, Bessemer Venture Partners
Vinay Iyengar is an investor at Bessemer Venture Partners focused on machine intelligence, IoT, cyber security, and cloud SaaS.
He got his start in venture capital at Clayton Christensen's Rose Park Advisors, leading the firm's exploration of machine intelligence as an enabler of disruption. Previously, he spent time as a quantitative trader at Goldman Sachs, as a machine learning engineer at Intel and co-founded a Harvard Innovation Lab-backed enterprise software startup. He also has conducted extensive cryptography research leading to two peer-reviewed publications.
