Meet our Chief Executive Officer, Kimberly Chotkowski
In January 2017, the Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. & Canada), Inc. named Kimberly Chotkowski its new Chief Executive Officer.
Kimberly Chotkowski is an accomplished intellectual property attorney and licensing executive with over two decades of professional legal and business experience. Kimberly has been a member and contributor of LES for over 20 years.
Kimberly is a proven leader with a deep professional experience in licensing of intellectual property, entrepreneurial IP strategic planning, and empowering businesses to maximize revenue. Working in various roles with corporations and private ventures, Kimberly has an established track record of negotiating complex, global IP licenses and monetization opportunities specializing in assisting businesses in optimizing financial return on research and development on intellectual property portfolios. Kimberly's experience brings a wealth of global IP knowledge from in-depth work in Asia, Europe and throughout North America. Kimberly was named to the “IAM Strategy 300 – The World’s Leading IP Strategists every year since its inception in 2009.
With her background as an Electrical Engineer and as a IP attorney, Kimberly has advanced and secured success in a broad range of technology disciplines, including; semiconductor processing and circuits, digital cameras, mobile telephones, optical storage, wired and wireless communications, internet applications, chemical arts, telecommunications, television, automotive, bioelectrical/biomechanical, pharmaceutical and industrial power generation.
Throughout a career in science, business and law, Kimberly has worked tirelessly to increase the IP value for clients, customers and end users through innovative and strategically crafted IP portfolio management. These complex efforts have enabled businesses to protect, sell and market core technology, reach lucrative Joint Ventures agreements, and engage in the full spectrum of IP management across the supply chain. With this scope of knowledge and experience in the IP community, Kimberly has served as an expert witness for patent litigation matters.
Kimberly’s academic background includes the dual awarding of Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Humanities-History from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a Juris Doctorate from the University of New Hampshire School of Law and an MBA, in international business and finance, from Sacred Heart University. Kimberly earned Bar licensure from Pennsylvania, Connecticut and New York. She is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a Certified Licensing Professional.
In additional to her professional positions and roles, Kimberly has long served the causes for National non-profits and charitable organizations to include; the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, the Travis Manion Foundation and the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation. As a resident of West Chester, Pa., Kimberly has been active in her community in supporting local philanthropic and out-reach programs. Kimberly, her husband, and two children live in East Bradford Twp., Chester County, Pennsylvania.
