Featured speaker, Dean Woodward, will discuss his team's approach to structuring IP protection in support of licensing, with specific lessons learned from past successes (and failures) in both patenting and licensing.

Dean Woodward's group manages an intellectual property portfolio of several hundred U.S. and international patents in multiple technical areas including advanced materials, semiconductor processing, pharmaceutical compounds, and medical and environmental technologies.  His group also drafts and negotiates IP terms related to research contracts, joint development agreements, consortia, licenses and M&A.  Dean also serves on RTI's cross-functional commercialization team, and recently served on Governor McCrory's "Innovation to Jobs" task force.
