Join Mtre. Daniel S. Drapeau of DrapeauLex Inc. who will share his insights on easy steps to set the stage for a successful outcome in cases of copyright and trademark infringement. Topics du jour will include: What strategic advantages can registration provide? How should registration be effected? How can the ©marking help you? For all who are interested in monetary recovery, Daniel will also explain how compensatory conventional damages and copyright statutory damages work and the latest awards of such damages from the Federal Court of Canada and the Quebec Superior Court. This talk will be of particular interest to IP rights managers, enforcers, and litigators.

The presentation will be given in ENGLISH.

Daniel S. Drapeau

Having earned his experience, for close to twenty years, in two of Canada’s leading intellectual property firms, Daniel has serviced major corporations and individuals in a wide variety of industries, including :Apparel, Mechanical, Retail, Consumer Products, Food & Beverage, Cosmetics & Fragrance and the Arts. His forte is the strategic use of IP rights and litigation to achieve his clients’ goals, whether they be protective, aggressive or defensive. In addition, Daniel has managed important trade-mark and copyright portfolios of foreign companies in Canada and those of Canadian companies abroad. He has also developed a particular expertise in expeditive remedies, including injunctions and seizure orders. This has enabled Daniel to acquire knowledge which he shares with others.
