Speaker Bios:
John Gannon, President and CEO, Blue Spark Technologies
John began his career as an engineer in the aerospace industry working for General Electric's Astro-Space Division. John is a founder and General Partner of venture firm SunBridge Partners, as well as a Director at Alien Technology, Embedded Planet and Blue Spark Technologies. John has been the CEO of Blue Spark Technologies for the last 5 years. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University.

Geoffrey Hoggard, Director, Intellectual Property Licensing & Acquisitions, Microsoft
Geoff Hoggard is a 20 year Microsoft veteran & has spent his entire career in the Intellectual Property and Licensing Group, first supporting development of Microsoft’s patent portfolio for consumer focused businesses, and, for the last 13 years, as part of the patent licensing team.  Geoff supports programmatic outbound licensing, patent acquisitions, divestitures & other IP-related deals.

Sridhar Iyengar, PhD, Founder & CEO, Elemental Machines; Founder & Former CTO, AgaMatrix; Founder & Director, Misfit
Sridhar Iyengar is a founder and director of Misfit, makers of highly wearable computing products, including the award-winning Shine, an elegant activity monitor. Sridhar also founded AgaMatrix, a blood glucose monitoring company that made the world’s first medical device connecting directly to the iPhone and shipped 15+ FDA-cleared medical products, 3B+ biosensors, 6M+ glucose meters, with partnerships with Apple, Sanofi, and Walgreens. Sridhar holds over 30 US and international patents and received his Ph.D. from Cambridge University as a Marshall Scholar. Recently, he launched a new venture, Elemental Machines, to bring IoT to the pharma industry.

Kevin Spivak, Of Counsel, Vierra Magen Marcus LLP
Kevin R. Spivak is a member of the intellectual property law firm of Vierra Magen Marcus LLP. Mr. Spivak's experience includes managing and securing intellectual property rights in a wide variety of technologies for domestic and global corporations. The technologies involved in Mr. Spivak's daily practice include networks, telecommunications, mobile devices, VoIP, Internet telephony, power generation, semiconductors, optics, display technology, DVD technology and standards, gaming, automotive, computer hardware and software and business methods. Before completing law school, Mr. Spivak was a Patent Examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications in computer-related technologies. Mr. Spivak received a B.S. in Computer Engineering from The George Washington University and a J.D. from The American University, Washington College of Law.
