Vancouver Chapter Meeting

DATE & TIME
Friday November 2, 2012

TITLE
Recent Developments in the USA Patent Wars Between Samsung, Apple and others and Why They Matter

SPEAKER
Adam Philipp, Founder, ÆON Law

DESCRIPTION
Adam will overview the current “patent war” within the mobile phone space with some context of previous patent wars dating all the way back to the original phone patent wars with Alexander Graham Bell that included over 600 lawsuits. Along the way he will point out a few risks and opportunities for large and small companies in related fields. Adam will also cover the industry and media response (both positive and negative) to the patent war along with the groundswell of negative feedback to the current U.S. Patent system. This negative response may be driven primarily by a reaction to non-practicing entities that are feeding some of the patent wars.
