Theme: Build, Buy, or Collaborate

When an organization needs to develop a new product or service, often the leadership is faced with the decision as to whether they should:

  • Build the product organically
  • Buy the product or service from another entity (the development either paid for by the supplier or by the buyer)
  • Collaborate on the development of product or service with another at least one other entity (the development either paid for by Entity A or Entity B or a combination)

The IP100 will focus on the processes driving this decision, as well as the costs/benefits analysis associated with these different options.

Peer-to-Peer Discussions and Networking

The IP100 Executive Forum is a unique and exclusive gathering of senior executives charged with the IP decision-making responsibilities within their organizations. The IP100 focuses on strategic issues related to IP business, including IP valuation, best practices in deal structure, IP strategy, and organizational alignment.

Held annually, the event explores the business dynamics of IP and organizational strategy through panels and small, facilitated group discussions, where the focus is on peer-to-peer interactions, thought-provoking engagement, and valuable takeaways to implement and integrate immediately into your organization. Attendance is limited to experienced, management-level professionals from various types of organizations of all sizes and industries.

IP100 Attendee Testimonial

“From its inception, I’ve been involved in the IP100 because I learn so much. I learn about new trends in IP management, best practices across a variety of industries, what issues my peers are wrestling with, and how they are handling them. And I learn all this in a trusting and productive environment, where I’m not bothered by service providers or press. I can relax and engage in useful conversations with people like me – senior business people responsible for their companies’ IP functions – who are solving the same problems that I need to solve.”

-Bill Elkington, Senior Director, Intellectual Property Management, Rockwell Collins
